Alternator Fixed, Now Car Stalls

United States
What I Drive
2000 Ford Focus
have a 2000 Ford Focus SE with 120,000. The alternator finalyl died while I was driving but I was able to get it home. I changed the alternator yesterday but more problems are popping up.

After changing the alternator, I charged the battery and took the car for a quick drive. About 200 yards from my house, car car surged, then bogged down and completely came to a stop.

Today, I charged the battery to full charge, it ran for about five minutes, then came to a complete stop. It will not start again and makes no clicking sound when trying to start.

Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Any ideas where to start?

The car has run great before this with very little problems.

Thanks in advance.
