Have a 2014 Ford Focus with the dual clutch design. We were having issues where the car wouldn’t start and was making some weird noises from the clutch actuators. Ended up putting the vehicle in neutral and it started right up. Called a mechanic and they removed actuator A and B and “cleaned” them up and reinstalled them. After that the vehicle was shifting harshly. Had the vehicle towed to a different mechanic and they ordered a rebuilt TCM from JUGS. They suggested replacing the TCM and then pulling the actuators, and then cleaning out clutch forks. Basically, they would run a drill in reverse and spray break cleaner in there a few times, and then after that they would repeat with a lubricant. Apparently during one of these reverses, they went to far and it did recoil back on its own. They’re saying we now must remove the transmission and replace the clutch forks. Does this sound correct?
