I have recently purchased a Ford Focus 2020 1.5 Diesel with 67k miles. After driving about 1200 miles in a month my engine check light has turned on, I have tried doing 70 miles on motorway with 2.5k RPM but the light is still on.
I wiped the exhaust pipe with a piece of tissue and it came out black. Took it to a lcoal garage who could not read the error code.

I used a friend's OBD reader to find out P2000 and P2000 (00) codes as confirmed saying NOx trap bank 1 efficiency below threshold and P2002 particulate trap bank 1 efficiency below threshold. It is not a ford specific OBD reader so not sure how much to trust these results but sharing just for reference.

Given this, I want to ask does soot in my exhaust pipe mean it's already too late and DPF is already damaged? Has anyone else been through similar and can share any advice or thoughts?
