- 2013 Ford Focus SE
Greetings. I have a 2013 Ford Focus SE with a 5 Speed manual transmission. I recently had a towing package installed so that I can tow my vehicle 4 wheels down behind my RV. The tow packages has sequential breaking and also a battery charging system running off the RV while connected during the tow. My question to you is must I still have a key installed into the ignition? I know that my power steering is electric and is only operational when the vehicle is running. I also know that because of the electrical power steering there is no steering wheel lock. I don’t see the need to have a key in the ignition here and I’m certain that the vehicle front wheel will track while towing. Any first hand knowledge would be helpful. Thanks
