Hennessey Performance also squeezed out a handful more torques from the 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine. The American tuning company advertises 425 lb-ft (576 Nm). I'm pretty sure that passes as "plenty."

The key to this power (as in 55 HP and 75 lb-ft more than standard) is a small list of pretty straightforward add-ons. Starting with a different engine management software, the Hennessey HPE400 Ford Focus RS has also been bettered with a high-flow air filter, stainless steel midpipe with electronic exhaust dump valve, and that's about it. No forged internals, no bigger turbo, nothing else. Happily, however, this is a taste of things to come from HPE.

According to the company, the near future will bring us more "high-performance upgrade systems for the 2016 Ford Focus RS." Among others, enhancements will include go-faster induction, intercooler systems, stainless steel downpipes, as well as turbo upgrades, wheels, tires, and so forth.

At the beginning of August, the period when Hennessey took delivery of a stock Ford Focus RS, an Instagram post teased us with 500 horsepower and hell knows how many toques. If Hennessey can pull this off from just four cylinders, that'll be fan-bleedin'-tastic! A compact car with lots of grunt, all-wheel-drive, a six-speeder, and Drift Mode is one hell of a hot hatch recipe.

Until then, prospective customers of the HPE400 upgrade may want to know how much does it cost. According to Hennesey Performance, $2,995 for all the upgrades is sufficient enough, Powered by Hennessey badges included. Including installation and dyno tune, that'll be $4,995, thank you!
